With all kinds of crazy going on with the Olympics and all the excitement around the office with the Opening Gala coming up we thought we would take the time to give you all a heads up regarding tomorrow night's Powwow hosted by our own Ray Thunderchild:

Show Description: 1 - 9:30pm
All Welcome.
This traditional event includes a Grand Entry, Intertribal Singing and Dancing competitions Begin, Social Dancing, and local vendors selling wares, hosted by MC Ray “Bigfoot” Thunderchild, Arena Directors Lawrence Trottier, Duane “Chocolate” Howard, and the Host Drummers are Love Medicine from East Vancouver. This is a regular event called "Tuesday Night Family Night Mini Powwow" All Welcome.

The event also takes place on February 23rd, 2010, same time and place.

The 2nd Annual Crossroads Slam returns with a Vengeance!
Open Mic, poetry Slam and short film Festival
Hosted by urban ink’s Omari Newton

Inspired by Black History Month, urban ink’s culturally diverse membership and the pending arrival of the 2010 Olympics, poets are invited to slam on topics that explore the notion of Fair Play. This includes fair play during competition and fair play during Olympic planning. Artists and activists from all communities are invited to join us for an evening of passion, insight and prizes.

All musicians, poets and performers are welcome. Sign up for the open mic, the Poetry Slam, or propose a short film that relates to the theme.
